What is the hCG Diet?

About the Plan

There are many hCG diet plans and protocols available today. Which one is right for you, depends on your personal needs and preferences.

The traditional hCG diet was developed by Dr. ATW Simeons for seriously obese individuals needing to lose weight quickly.  This protocol requires a specific 500 very low calorie diet (known as the VLCD) along with daily injections of synthetic hCG (human Human chorionic gonadotropin). About Getting Started with the hCG Diet

For those new to the diet, we recommend you start by reading the original hCG diet protocol, “Pounds and Inches” by Dr ATW Simeons.  If you are already planning to start the diet, it is highly recommended that you read this manuscript in it’s entirety although we have made the manuscript browsable by table of contents for your convenience.

For specific overviews and tips regarding the 3 diet phases, we recommend reading through the Newcomer Information series in the forums.   1. I have a question regarding the injections It says to skip 1 day of injectinos every week. Does that week start with the first day of Gorge day or do you start counting a week from the day you start phase 2?
